After Edwards death the saxon council appointed Herold 2 as king. This ticked off William the Duke of Normady because he claimed Edward had promised him the kingship
in 1066 william became "The Conqueror" by cossing the English channel to take the throne by force(danggg)So they made battle at Hastings and Harold got shot int he eye and William was made kingAnglo-Saxon history
